Denzell was an imaginary friend that the artist manifested in 2014 while they were struggling with loss and anxiety. Since then, Denzell has become a constant in their life for the next few years, appearing as an apparition inside their head during the roughest times in their lives. Denzell's last appearance was in 2022, and Luner believes that Denzell has done his/her/their part in helping and healing them throughout their growing years- it is time for them to accept that Denzell does not exist in this reality. The work is a compilation of the remnants of Denzell that exist in the artist's memory, and an invitation for whatever is left of Denzell to step out of the imaginary world to the real human world as the artist moves on to the next phase of life.
