the worst is yet to come and the best is yet to be
the worst is yet to come and the best is yet to be follows the artist's journey of growing up queer in a conservative family and society through a series of darkroom chemigrams.
Using fruit as a metaphor for the queer self, a subject that holds strong connotations to the queer identity and gender culture, the artists uses the cross-sections of the fruits and reacts its juices with the darkroom chemicals. The silent reaction produces dramatic and liberating prints, relating to the hidden feelings of ecstasy, shame and melancholy of the closeted queer individual.
